Cape Cod 2010; Day 3:
It's Independence Day and Jonathan and I started off the day with cereal and a stroll to the beach in search of America Flags (with Katrina in tow).
The weather was absolutely perfect for a morning walk. I 'tried' to keep a decent pace, but the heat, and weight of two children was preventing a jog.
Once we arrived at the beach, we noticed it was fairly empty, so Jonathan and I took off our shoes and headed into the sand. The mild ocean breeze was refreshing and a pleasant change of pace from the sunshine, as was the chilly water, and cold sand between our toes.
Jonathan desperately wanted to dive in and swim around, but with Katrina strapped to me in the carrier (and my iphone in its pocket), that was an impossible task. He kindly settled for walking hand-in-hand with me along the shore, exploring waist deep in the comfortable ocean water and collecting rocks and seashells to toss at passing waves.
We headed back to the house, our plan being a quick snack, a trip to the park and Sundae School for lunch.
Matt met us at the house and off we went. Jonathan picked his own ice cream and topping(chocolate chip with hot fudge) and he DEVOURED it! He also enjoyed the entertainment provided by the three cute little girls and the player piano.
Unfortunately, by the time we made it to the park, it was just about noon and unquestionably the HOTTEST time of day, the now hot and cranky, wanted to return home for a dip in the pool and a snooze.
