Look what I found

Cape Cod 2010; Day 3:

It's Independence Day and Jonathan and I started off the day with cereal and a stroll to the beach in search of America Flags (with Katrina in tow).
The weather was absolutely perfect for a morning walk. I 'tried' to keep a decent pace, but the heat, and weight of two children was preventing a jog.
Once we arrived at the beach, we noticed it was fairly empty, so Jonathan and I took off our shoes and headed into the sand. The mild ocean breeze was refreshing and a pleasant change of pace from the sunshine, as was the chilly water, and cold sand between our toes.
Jonathan desperately wanted to dive in and swim around, but with Katrina strapped to me in the carrier (and my iphone in its pocket), that was an impossible task. He kindly settled for walking hand-in-hand with me along the shore, exploring waist deep in the comfortable ocean water and collecting rocks and seashells to toss at passing waves.

We headed back to the house, our plan being a quick snack, a trip to the park and Sundae School for lunch.
Matt met us at the house and off we went. Jonathan picked his own ice cream and topping(chocolate chip with hot fudge) and he DEVOURED it! He also enjoyed the entertainment provided by the three cute little girls and the player piano.

Unfortunately, by the time we made it to the park, it was just about noon and unquestionably the HOTTEST time of day, the now hot and cranky, wanted to return home for a dip in the pool and a snooze.

Just the two of us...

Cape Cod 2010; Day 2:

I heard Jonathan wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, hoping right on the potty and all, right at 7.
Much earlier than expected, considering his sleeping in lately.
Katrina and I joined him and the 'Cella's in bagel eating to start off the day, while Matt attempted go sleep in a bit.
Jonathan took a ride to the beach with Gramma Cella and Granpa Cella and Katrina accompanied Matt and I shopping... We all worked up an appetite for the delicious BBQ dinner of Turkey Burgers, and Salads.

GOODBYE JUNE!

June was a REALY rough month for us. Now that it is July, we all are determined things will be looking up!
It started off alright, and turned to bad fast!
I worked daily and did not get paid the entire month...Matt worked ungodly hours and was told there is no overtime and no compensation time anymore, and what's worse, he had to cover extra shifts BEFORE he was told this! Jonathan decided he did not want to do ANY school work at home, and when Matt and I researched preschools, we re-discovered that most if not all, were overpriced and undereducated... Halfway through the month, Katrina needed to be hospitalizted for an extended period of time, of course this did not happen until AFTER, Matt switched the insurance to save a little bit of money. While Katrina was in the hospital, which happened to be Father's Day weekend, I developed another eye ulcer, Matt had to work 3rd shift, and Jonathan shuffling became a MESS!

BUT now its July...and the changes have begun...hooray!

First, Matt hears he is up for a promotion, fingers crossed, more money and less hours! Second, Jonathan is consistently out of pull-ups, so his June refression period is over!
Third, I finally got paid.
Fourth, we are successfully on our first family vaction as a faastic family of FOUR!
Fifth, Matt's educational stock reward is on its way!
Sixth, my ulcer has cleared naturally and my OB has given me the A O K to drive, swim and play (which is good since I have a game).
Seven, and MOST IMPORTANT, Katrina has successfully taken her last dose of antibiotics and can now be deemed a HEALTHY girl!

Now we can really look foward to Katrina's Baptism next weekend, which Father Bob has been approved to do AT SAINT MARY'S (and the other adventures this summer WILL hold!

Cape Cod 2010; Day 1:

We left a little late, since Matt was on-call for HSI until 8:00AM., But, we were able to stop and drop everything off on our way up, and Jonathan was thrilled to see where Daddio works AND of course try out the potty.
Katrina and I had to wait in the car, so the "boys" moved quickly. From what we heard (and know about Jonathan), he made a ruckus and stole the show....
I spent most of the time completely paranoid that I had forgotten Katrina's medicine and thus feeling like a terrible mother.
Most of the ride was quick and painless, the kids and I slept...we took a brief potty, stretch and snack break an hour in, and were awake the rest of the way (except Mouse).
Unfortunately about 6 miles from the bridge, on came the standstill traffic, TWO hungry, loud children, fellow traffic-stuck-drivers blasting profanity-ridden music, heat and one dog with scratchy, whiny; tendencies.... UGH, you'd think it was still June....
Thankfully we arrived safely within an hour of our estimated time, got everyone happy, full and playing!
