super nanny? i am writting my own book!

Bedtime has become a NIGHTMARE!
I have read everything I could find online about putting little people to bed with no success. Matt, remembered several episodes of Super Nanny, where they try for hours day after day and don't talk to the kid but keep putting him back into his bed.
Well, I have officially deemed her advice to be nonsense (in at least this department).
I have re-established our bed-time routine and it is working JUST fine... He is still waking at 6 am or so and climbing in our bed in the morning for an hour or so, but that I don't mind one bit!
So maybe, I should write my own book, ....

ToUCH a tRuCk

Cheshire sponsors a full week of activities for little people. Jonathan and I have gone to the Touch a Truck for several years now, but Matt was finally able to join us!

Although we were all looking forward to it, it was very crowded and we ended up spending more time at the park than in the trucks....

Regardless, we had so much fun!

gO FLY A kIte

Today, Matt, and I took Jayden and Jonathan into Cheshire to visit Bantham Park for a kite flying contest.
Jonathan was so excited to bring his kite, but without any 'flying' experience, didn't want to chase around a one-year-old, a two-year-old, a kite and a sleepy husband. Instead we looked at all the cool, colorful kites flying in the sky and strolled around in the double stroller until Jonathan remembered we were at the park.
We then all headed over to the swings and slides and off we went!
Jonathan had his first 7-Eleven Slurpee (he stole it from me), and we drove until the little ones fell asleep.
Excellent day had by all!

Marathan Training

And the RACE IS ON!
Matt has begun his training regiment for the 2012 Disney Marathon....which may actually turn out to be the 2011, since I doubt he can wait to return to Disney!

Not that I don't want to go back, I just think it is expensive and hard with two kids!
BUT, I am super proud of Matt for being so determined to do it, and thrilled that he is beginning his training.

pLAYDATE

Today we went to Jenn's house for a play-date with Aidan and Eric.
Since it was so beautiful we stayed outside and played and played and played!

"No bed for daddy...."

With Jonathan in his toddler bed, naps are VERY hard to come by, but still VERY much needed.... so I really don't know HOW it happened, but... Jonathan now naps in OUR BED. I have gotten in the habit of napping with him, since I need a nap so desperately as well... But, on the days that I don't want a nap, (like today), Jonathan refuses to let Matt nap in my place!
Today he actually said "No bed for Daddy, Daddy you go downstairs and do dishes"...

quilting for the kids

After looking all over online and seeing the cost of the nursery bedding for anything decent. Being on a limited budget, it just would not be feasible for me to spend a hundred dollars on a comforter set that may or not actually be used, and even then, for how long?
So I decided to pull out some patterns and put together a quilt for the little lady. I found the most adorable butterfly quilt pattern for Katrina, (that I of course had to modify to make it "mine"), but one for Jonathan was harder to come by. I could not find a pattern that I liked enough, so I decided to stick with the boring old square patterned quilt and use fabric he REALLY likes!
So, now, I have this HUGE project to do and no time to do it in....BUT, it's for my babies, so I WILL find the time! :)

Easter

Easter was a VERY long day for the little man!
We began our day at Grandma 'Cella's and Grandpa 'Cella's for a yummy brunch, Easter Egg hunt AND the discovery of the basket the Easter Bunny had left there for Jonathan.

The day continued with a nap attempt, followed by dinner at Me-Ma's and Poppy's. We We joined by Robert, Candice, their little people (Samantha, Ian, Trevor and Chase), Paul, Mayra, Pop-Pop, Nana Gaga, and Auntie Jenny. Dinner was awesome, Me-Ma outdid herself! And desert, YUM! So many things, including, Mayra as usual made flan... DELISH!
Auntie Jenny dressed up like the Easter Bunny and hid eggs all over the yard. The little ones, ran around like crazy looking for their color egg (Jonathan was Green), and checking out their goodies.
The most precious thing was that despite the fact that the older kids were gobbling up candy, Jonathan did not have a single piece.... WHAT A GOOD BOY!
