WORST Halloween EVER!!!!!

Jonathan and I planned for weeks and weeks how Halloween was going to work....BUT he was stricken with a MISERABLE cold and had a terrible reaction to the FLU vaccine. He was so excited to be a be, and this would have been the FIRST year that Halloween would have actually been anything memorable, BUT he just couldn't do it. He put on his costume saw his grandparents and passed out on the couch....

Jonathan's first class ALONE..

A true beauty

PRETENDING

Jonathan and Addison have QUITE the imagination. Lately all they play is 'drive to Cape Cod'. Today Addy took the car and Jonathan the train. The only bad thing was, when they were about half-way there, Addison informed Jonathan that he forgot the diaper bag....here is the conversation that followed...
A- Jonathan you forgot the diaper bag.
J- Well you better get it.
A- But you forgot it, now we have to turn all the way around and go all the way back home.
J- I am not turning around, we are almost at Cape Cod.
A- What are we supposed to do?
J- I don't know, I don't change diapers anyways.

Pumpkin Carvings

This year, in being that we didn't want to create anything TOO SCARY, we both went with a Disney theme. Matt carved Mickey Mouse and I did Tinker Belle.

Look what I made in school today!

We filled up the marble jar and......

HAD ICE CREAM FOR DINNER (ok, frozen yogurt). Jonathan enjoyed it so much, and the most adorable part is after he finished he asked for grilled chicken for desert! How cute is he!

We went to Avery's Birthday Party

Jonathan loves going to Monkey Business. Today, as we were guests at Avery's Birthday Party he had so much fun and was so well behaved that the teachers actually complimented me AND asked if I was interested in signing him up for classes. They were ASTONISHED when I told him he was only 2! I should have planned better, since he did not have lunch and went straight to eat CAKE, oops!

Can I have a ride?

Katrina smiles from EAR TO EAR each and EVERY time she sees Kali! What a change this is for Kali, since Jonathan consistently kicks her out of the room with every opportunity he has. Today Trina grabbed right on to Kali and tried to use her in order to stand up. Kali did not seem to mind, although she did continuously turn around to look at Katrina. But, honestly, I do not blame Kali, I ALWAYS want to look at Katrina's beautiful little face too.

FIRST CLASS!

Jonathan went to his first art class today in Cheshire, he seemed to like it. He made a spider. His favorite part was adding beading to the spiders legs.
Before we left the house he was so super excited to make new friends, but when we got there, he only talked to the babies (little brothers of his classmates), which is cute and all, but not the way to make friends...
He was a good listener in the class, he followed directions and finished early! He was rewarded with a white hot chocolate milk and a Halloween donut.

Picaso!

Jonathan as been putting a lot of effort and thought into his creative mind, and displaying it through various medias each day. Today he chose to express himself, via MR. POTATO HEAD!

Our little "Billy"

There is a little sting that Jonathan wrapped around EVERYTHING he could see. It very much reminded me of all the 'Family Circus' comic strips with Billy when the dotted line showed the 'quickest' way between two points as he ran a muck though-out the whole neighborhood.

It's a little hard to see in this one but the other is more clear. The string was white so it is a bit hard to see.

And here is "Billy's" version.....

Exterior Project #1

I'd like a porch, but the front landscape of our house MAY make it difficult, however... we're gonna try. Here is a picture of a ALMOST similair house with an updated porch:

Poor little man

Jonathan feels so unlike himself...but his sense of humor is intact!

Last night as he slept in MY bed AGAIN, he turned to me and said "Thanks for coming up here mom, I'm glad to see ya"

And tonight when he went to sleep in his own bed FINALLY...he awoke saying "Mom, I really didn't pee" I had no idea what he was talking about UNTIL I noticed the humidifier had SOAKED his blanket! UGH!

On a lighter note, his voice seems to be coming back and his cough seems to be lessening! WAHHOOOOO!
(the voice thing is bugging me since I had just said to him "Can you stop talking for 5 minutes?" - the very next morning he woke up with LARYNGITIS! bad mommy!!!)

SUPERSTAR!

Chicken Pox?

What an eventful week!?!?! Poor Jonathan has had a rough go-around.

Saturday morning-Monday morning : Thanks to the incompetence (maybe that's too harsh...)of the Urgent Care Staff associated with Danbury Hospital we were under the impression that our little friends had been infected with Chicken Pox. This would mean that BOTH Jonathan and Katrina were exposed. I spoke to a few nurses and searched via GOOGLE, only to discover the disease could live inside the body undetected for up to twenty-one days! UGH! That would mean three weeks of canceled classes and activities, for fear that they might be spreading the disease to others. In a word : quarantine.
NOT something I was looking forward too!

Monday: I spoke with the Dr. Office who agreed that IF Jack received the Chicken Pox Vaccine, he would be LESS likely to contract the disease and MUCH LESS likely to pass it along to little Trina... So, he and I ran out of the house and straight to the Dr. Office for the vaccine, in the meantime the Dr. called and said they could do one BETTER, and the nurse informed me of a shot Globulin could TOTALLY prevent him from contracting it BUT, they needed to locate it somewhere in the state first. We went in anyway and while we were there, I figured we might as well get the FLU vaccine.
In the afternoon, after Jack has been vaccinated from the chicken pox, we find out that the Danbury Hospital people misdiagnosed BOTH Addy & Johnny. They both ended up catching Strep with a Rash, Scarlet Fever of sorts. Unfortunately, this means they are suffering all alone, and PROBABLY would be unable to have "shared" the illness with Jack and Trina...

Tuesday: UGH! Jack developed a fever and runny nose as a DIRECT result of his FLU nasal spray vaccination...UGH! THIS is why I do NOT like vaccinations!

Wednesday: Jack's fever is ALL gone, BUT he has begun a cough, which could or could not be related to the FLU shot, his allergies and/or changing of temperature. He seemed a tad mushy, so I pushed fluids, vitamin C and home-made soup.

Thursday: Discovered that Johnny and Addy would not be returning until TUESDAY, since they have Croup. I am a little at ease, since Jack has developed Laryngitis now and will have plenty of time to recover.

Friday/Today: After a VERY rough night's sleep, or lack thereof, I take Jack into the Dr. We went into see the APRN, but Jack's & Trina's FANTASTIC Dr. heard our voices and came in to see us anyway! LOVE HIM! Dr. Maddox ALWAYS has shown GENUINE concern for our children! After THOROUGHLY checking Jack, they sort of don't know what's wrong with him. Strep test was negative, oxygen level was 99, lungs were clear, ears and nose were free of ALL signs of infection! They ONLY signs of any illness is his raspy voice, barking cough and very, slightly red, right side of the inside of his mouth. I don't know what's wrong with Jack, BUT I am assuming he got a milder version of what the kids have. To much relief, we are told he is NOT contagious and will recover fine and wont miss any classes.

WAHOO! Here's to a very BORING, RESTFUL, Weekend......

Jonathan's NEW rules

Well... not so NEW, more like recently written and gone over with him.
The rules are:

1) Use furniture appropriately.
----That MUST have provoked this:
the literalist KNOWS the rule is 'use furniture appropriately', and so when I said to him "Jonathan no standing on the couch" he very calmly said "Mom, I am not standing on the couch, I am standing on your boppy."

Fighting sleep

Jack is a fighter... a sleep fighter!

Interior Project #1

This is a preliminary photograph of the projected Dinning Room/Kitchen Breakfast Bar Project....

The Plan is that the END result is something like this....

Obviously, it will NOT be identical, hopefully it will be BETTER, but we shall see...
All that is important is that the new bar increases the "counter-space", "eating area", gives a feeling of more space, provides a place to serve food AND eliminates the need for a kitchen table....
